Role Purpose
To coordinate and lead the delivery of mining construction projects by overseeing monitoring, inspection, and quality control activities. This role ensures all projects are delivered safely, on time, fit for purpose, and in compliance with AGA’s standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance: Champion safety by assessing risks, reporting and investigating incidents, and ensuring all corrective actions are completed promptly.
Quality Control & Inspection: Oversee mining construction works to ensure all infrastructure meets AGA’s specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
Project Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, manage schedules, and lead project teams to meet defined milestones and operational requirements.
Contractor Management: Manage contractors and subcontractors providing mining construction services, ensuring technical and legal compliance.
Documentation & Reporting: Produce detailed project documentation, including charters, progress reports, and scope documents.
Required Qualification & Experience
Qualification: BSc. in Mining Engineering or equivalent (Mechanical/Electrical).
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ direct experience in managing mining construction projects.
Certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a distinct advantage.
Legal: A Shift Boss certificate of competency will be an advantage.
Technical Competencies
Strong knowledge of mining construction practices and underground mining operations.
Proven ability to manage project costs, review payment certificates, and optimize performance.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience in business improvement and change management.
